In the history of mankind's existance on this earth there has never been a better time to be a woman. There also has never been a better time for strong willed, motivated and adventageous women to start there own business or invest in a franchise. There are, however, many choices out there and it may be hard to decide on what to do, when to buy in and when to sell out. The market in America has been fluctuating off and on since 2000 and there is very little market stability. So before you jump in and take this to task, you should know the markets and the opportunies out there for you. I have done countless hours of research and coupled it with advice from the most sound business minds that I know and have come up with a short list with a description of franchises that are best suitible for independant, career-driven women.

1. Culver's Resturant- One of the best food chains in the world and also one of the most widely expanding also. Many possible locations for new stores. Large Benefit package and the finacial backing that is very often lacking at other resturants in America.

2. Bonanza Steakhouse- Bonanza Steakhouse is also a very quickly expanding resturant that appeals to all kinds of customers. Labor is usually very efficient under the current plan they have. They also allow individual franchises the opportunity to be really independant while also being there in times of economic trouble. Something that is not very often the case with resturants and least of all family style sit down resturants. Definitely deserves the number two ranking.

3. US Cellular- Convienent hours, many new places for set-up and construction and the opportunity to stay local and stay in the same company for your whole career mae franchising with US Cellular a great idea. They do demand an awful lot from there franchisers so be prepared to find the best salesmen you can, but it is well worth it!

4. GNC Health and Fitness- Very convient hours, usually located in a mall enviornment. Very good turnover rates and an awsome contingency plan make GNC the best among the nutrition stores of America. Although it is like real-estate, in that your success is reliant on three things Location, Location, and Location, if you do your homework and can land a decent location, your set!

5. Bed, Bath and Beyond- Maybe this one was too easy. Great Franchisee based business that really pays attention to the indidual store owner and does everything it can to ensure that they are taken care of. Real stand up business, all around.

6. JCPenney's- The biggest of the big three, JCPenneys has a large logistical network that makes it easy to get what you need, when you need it, something that is forgotten about until your truck does not come in and you lose money. Top name brands and an ever expanding inventory make Penneys tops in the retail biz.

7. Sears- Although it has recently taken a lot of hits from this sinking economy stateside, Sears is still the retail giant that it was 40 years ago. They still treat there individual owners as there most prized possessions and there is something to be said for that.

8. Younkers- Younkers is really centered around there female apperal and other female products. A good place to work and a great place to manage, Younkers draws in the best of the best as far as retail employees go. Be prepared to spend a bit more on labor than your Sears and Penneys counterparts but it is well worth it.

9. Jimmy Johns Sandwhiches- Fun, cheap and conveinent!

Remember to plan ahead and do your research no matter wht you choose!
