My childhood ambition ...

As far as I can recall I wanted to be a Pop star, or actor, but there was also a brief period around about the time of the Moon landings of 1969 that I nourished dreams of becoming an astronaut, but it's all so long ago...I am only speculating here.

My first job ...

My first job was as a Ordinary Deckhand in the London Division of the Royal Naval Reserve which I joined in 1972, aged if I'm not mistaken 16.
